Getting to Campbell River
Campbell River is located on the East coast of Central Vancouver Island, 95 miles (153 km) North of Nanaimo on Highway 19 and 166 miles (265 km) North of Victoria on Highway 19. Campbell River Regional Airport (YBL) is approximately 35 minutes from Vancouver by air and 1.5 hours from Lake Union (Seattle).
- Victoria : Drive North on Highway 19, approximately 3.5 hrs. If you prefer a more scenic route, take the Oceanside Route (19A). Daily flights from Victoria are also available through Central Mountain Air (ph. 250 923-7723).
- Vancouver : BC Ferries from Tsawassen or Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo, and then drive North on Highway 19 or Highway 19A (Oceanside Route). Bus service (Greyhound) is also available from Vancouver. Alternatively, there are direct scheduled flights from Vancouver International Airport to Campbell River. Contact Air Canada. Flight time is approximately 35 minutes.
- Seattle, WA : Drive North to Port Angeles on Highway 99 and take the M.V. Coho (Blackball Transport) to Victoria or drive North to Vancouver on I-5 and take BC Ferries to Nanaimo from Tsawassen or Horseshoe Bay. Once in Victoria or Nanaimo, you can drive North to Campbell River on Highway 19 or 19A for the scenic route, as described above. Alternatively, there are scheduled flights from Seattle-Tacoma Airport to Campbell River, via Vancouver, and direct flights from Lake Union (Seattle Area) with Kenmore Air. A car ferry operated by Clipper Navigation (Princess Margeurite 3) operates a daily service between Seattle and Victoria from mid May through mid September.
Quadra Island
The Ferry from Campbell River to Quadra Island runs approximately every hour
between 6:40am and 10:30pm (11:30pm Friday & Saturday). The crossing
takes approximately 15 minutes.

Cortes Island
Currently the Ferry to Whaletown on the island of Cortes leaves 6 times daily from Heriot
Bay on Quadra Island. Crossing time is 45 minutes and sailings commence at 9:05 a.m. with
the last departure at 6:45 p.m. The last ferry back from Cortes leaves at 5:50 p.m.
